# Residential IPv4 connection reference

> Shared endpoints, targeting, sessions, authentication, and destination limits for TrueProxies Residential IPv4.

TrueProxies exposes Residential IPv4 through Unlimited and GB-based billing products. This page documents the shared connection contract; use the [Unlimited](https://trueproxies.com/proxies/unlimited-residential-proxies/) and [GB-based](https://trueproxies.com/proxies/residential-ipv4-gb/) product pages for current commercial terms.

## Connection contract

| Setting | Value |
| -------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| Address family | IPv4 exits from residential ISP networks |
| HTTP CONNECT endpoint | `http://YOUR_HOST:8080` |
| HTTPS (HTTP CONNECT over TLS) endpoint | `https://YOUR_HOST:8443` |
| SOCKS5 endpoint | `socks5://YOUR_HOST:1080` |
| Authentication | Username and password, or a trusted IP |
| Targeting | Product-specific; see the matrix below |
| Sessions | Rotating by default; sticky by session id |

## Product controls

| Product | Targeting | Sessions |
| --------- | -------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Unlimited | Country | Rotating or sticky; caller-set lifetime in whole minutes, up to 24 hours (30 minutes on some services) |
| GB-based | Country, city, region, ASN | Rotating or sticky; caller-set lifetime from 1 second to 24 hours |

Unlimited: country and city targeting and sticky sessions are supported. GB-based: country, city, region, and ASN targeting is supported. Both Residential IPv4 products accept a caller-set session lifetime. Unsupported controls are hidden by the **Endpoints** tab and refused by the gateway instead of being ignored.

Targeting is written on the username only. The product-specific option list, with the accepted values, is in [How to connect](https://docs.trueproxies.com/proxy-instructions/how-to-connect/#options) — kept in one place so it cannot drift from what the proxies actually honour.

## Choose a session mode

- Send no session for normal rotation. `rotate` is accepted if an integration insists on naming it, and changes nothing — rotation is already the default.
- Send a session id when a login, cart, or multi-page flow needs the same exit. Set `lifetime` in seconds, within the limits above, when the flow needs a specific continuity window. Without one, a default lifetime applies.
- Keep a session id only for work that needs continuity. Reusing one identifier across unrelated jobs holds them all on a single IP.

## Destination limit

Residential IPv4 cannot reach IPv6-only destination hosts. Use a destination with an IPv4 address, or choose an IPv6 product whose assigned endpoint and exit match the job.
