# GB-based plans

> Learn how TrueProxies pay-per-GB residential traffic packs work, including usage in both directions, 30-day expiry, top-ups and connection limits.

GB-based Residential IPv4 plans give you a traffic pack that lasts 30 days from activation on the full residential network. Current package sizes and prices live on the [GB-based product page](https://trueproxies.com/proxies/residential-ipv4-gb/) and in checkout.

## How usage is counted

- Transferred bytes count in both directions — requests, responses, and retries all draw from your allowance.
- Your dashboard shows authoritative live usage. Use it instead of estimating from response payload sizes.
- Each new traffic pack expires 30 days after activation. A top-up has its own deadline and does not extend older traffic. Unused gigabytes expire without rollover; the earliest-expiring traffic is used first.

## Sizing your package

- Start small (or test the network first with the [free trial](https://trueproxies.com/free-trial/)) and measure real traffic before committing to a larger package.
- Real bandwidth beats request counts for forecasting — response sizes vary a lot by target.
- If your workload becomes continuous, compare against [unlimited plans](https://docs.trueproxies.com/pricing/unlimited-plans/) — a fixed speed tier is usually cheaper for constant heavy use.

## Limits besides bandwidth

Every plan also has concurrent-connection and new-connections-per-second ceilings, independent of your GB allowance. Your active plan in the dashboard shows the exact values.

Connection setup and targeting controls are documented in the [Residential IPv4 reference](https://docs.trueproxies.com/proxy-instructions/products/residential/).

## Published plan fields

The catalogue exposes these customer-facing plan fields:

- `allowance_bytes` — the included traffic allowance in bytes
- `connects_per_second` — the new-connection rate ceiling
- `currency` — the ISO billing currency
- `enabled` — whether the plan is currently available
- `max_connections` — the concurrent-connection ceiling
- `price_cents` — the exact package price in minor currency units
- `product` — `residential_ipv4_gb`
- `speed_bps` — zero; traffic packs have no plan speed
- `term` — absent; each traffic pack has its own 30-day expiry
